One Hand for the Ship

This program depicts treatment of a crewmember who has amputated his hand in a machine shop accident. The videotape depicts treatment procedures including assessment of the injured crewman's ABC's, stabilization of the immediate threats to his life and limb, dressing the wound, packaging the amputated part for transport, administration of morphine, starting an IV and administering an intravenous antibiotic, consultation with a physician and preparation of the crewman for transport.
