Learn about Chlorine hazards and safety and response to Chlorine incidents

"Chlorine" DVD is a safety training program about the hazards of chlorine and safe response to incidents involving chlorine. It is part of the HazChem Series and is available separately or as a part of the series.

Chlorine is found in almost every town because it is used in water and sewage treatment. Chlorine vapors, heavier than air, remain close to the ground and expand rapidly when released, creating a hazardous atmosphere. This training program includes information about chlorine's use as a WMD in Iraq; studies DHS warnings about a worst case scenario involving chlorine; updated information about placarding and labeling; an extensive case study of the Graniteville, SC train derailment and chlorine release of 40 tons of gas.

Other topics covered include:
Vapor behavior
Toxic effects of chlorine
Use of Level A and Level B ensembles during response activities
Methods of leak detection
Container design
Chlorine Institute A, B and C kits
Use of water to cool containers and for vapor control. 28 minutes.
Included in the package is an Instructor's CD-Rom with Powerpoint, post seminar quiz and other resources helpful in presenting a training session."Chlorine" DVD is a safety training program about the hazards of chlorine and safe response to incidents involving chlorine.
